Our Pastor

Brother Mike was installed as the pastor of Martha's Chapel 9/01/2014. He grew up in South and East Texas. He served in Desert Storm and United Shield campaigns during the first Gulf War. He graduated Beta Gamma Sigma (Business Honors Society) from Texas A&M university, Magna Cum Laude, in 2004 with a bachelors in business administration management. He graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary, Theta Phi (Religious Honors Society), in 2014.

Brother Mike is a second career pastor. He was a district manager for Heilig Myers in southern California and Central Texas. After moving back to Texas, he became an executive with Ethan Allen in Corpus Christi and later Beaumont Texas. He was then called to Seminary. He left his career and moved his family to Kentucky completing Seminary with a 3.93 GPA.

Brother Mike is married to Judy McMullen. They were married 1995 and have two children. Judy and Brother Mike were both raised Catholic, took a journey through the Baptist church and were youth pastors at the United Methodist church. Therefore, they are well informed of the theologies that shape other belief systems. Brother Mike is also fluent in Hebrew, Greek, and Ugaritic. Further, he has studied all major world religions and their beliefs. Brother Mike specializes in apologetics. It was at seminary that Mike was compelled toward the Holiness movement. He became a licensed pastor with the Wesleyan movement while recieving a full scholarship at Asbury Theological Seminary. He was assigned to the Texas/Louisiana district. After being assigned to the Texas/Louisiana district with the Wesleyan church. He was offered a position at Martha's Chapel Free Methodist Church which has a partnership with the Wesleyan Church. Brother Mike has since decided to pursue eldership with the Free Methodist and will become an Elder with the Free Methodist at the July 2015 General Conference.
